The Institute of Health Programs and Systems (IHPS) is a South African non-profit company (NPC) born out of the PEPFAR CDC Track 1 transition of the ICAP, Columbia University, Multi-country AIDS Program (MCAP) in South Africa in 2010. IHPS was established with a mission “to strengthen health and development systems through program implementation and partnerships” and, the vision is to ensure “optimal and sustainable health and development outcomes”. IHPS is a current Global Fund (GF) Subrecipient (SR) under the National Department of Health (NDoH), tasked to implement the Tuberculosis (TB) Program in the Johannesburg (JHB) Health District in Gauteng Province (GP) and Kenneth Kaunda District in the Northwest (NW) Province starting April 2022 ending March 2025. As such, IHPS seeks to recruit the position outlined below, based in Mbombela Sub District in Mpumalanga Province.


IHPS has a zero-tolerance approach to sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) of any person, child or adult, involved with its programs. The IHPS PSEAH policy outlines its commitment towards SEAH.

HTS Lay Counsellor

  • Matric with at least 3- years’ experience in HTS.
  • HIV Counselling certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Certified to conduct finger-prick testing.
  • Experience with rapid HIV testing quality control and proficiency testing.

Security Officer

  • A minimum of Grade 12.
  • PSIRA Certificate.
  • SAPS clearance and not on Par B of the Child Protection Register
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate well to youth between 10 and 24 years of age.
  • Community mobilisation experience.

Preference will be given to people residing in these communities: Daantjie and Manyeveni.

Learner Support Agent

  • A minimum of Grade 12, preferably post Matric training.
  • Basic counselling certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate well to youth between 10 and 24 years of age.
  • Community mobilisation experience.

Preference will be given to people residing in these communities: Kabokweni, Msogwaba, Daantjie, and Clau Clau.

ABYM Facilitator

  • A minimum of Grade 12.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct and facilitate sessions for ABYM.
  • Ability to relate well to youth between 10 and 24 years of age.
  • Community mobilisation experience.

Preference will be given to people residing in these communities: Daantjie, Clau Clau and Msogwaba,

In School Supervisor

  • Matric certificate
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field
  • At least 3 years of experience in teaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate well to youth between 10 and 24 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate in English and local languages
  • Driver’s licence is essential.

ISS05

Preference will be given to people residing in these communities: Kabokweni, Msogwaba, Daantjie, and Clau Clau.

M&E Officer

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in M&E, Information Management, Social Sciences or Statistics with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in HIV and AIDS programming, with a specific focus on M&E.
  • Demonstrated experience in data management and reporting systems including tools development, data capturing, analysis and report writing.
  • Experience of working in Global Fund, PEPFAR or other donor funded projects would be an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of government M&E systems including DOH, DSD and DOE.

Peer Group Trainer

  • A minimum of Grade 12, preferably post Matric training.
  • Basic counselling certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate well to youth between 10 and 24 years of age.
  • Community mobilisation experience.

Preference will be given to people residing in these communities: Daantjie, Clau Clau and Kabokweni

Safe Space Cleaner

  • Matric Certificate or equivalent.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable, confident, matured.
  • Appreciation and ability to work in a multicultural context.
  • Team player
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience as an Administration or Office Assistant.

Preference will be given to people residing in these communities: Daantjie and Manyeveni.

Requirements:

For all positions candidates must have matric, certificate or Diploma ensure they are registered with the relevant Professional Bodies. Previous work experience will be an advantage and a valid driver license is mandatory.
