Overall Responsibility
Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the NIMART Professional Nurse will implement the comprehensive biomedical service program. S/he will support PrEP initiation for at-risk AYP and facilitate ART initiation to HIV infected AYP, STI, and TB treatment.
- Conduct integrated risk assessments and provide tailored primary healthcare services to AYP aged 15-24, in line with NDOH guidelines.
- Implement and monitor the PrEP rollout for eligible AGYW, ensuring adherence support and follow-up.
- Provide NIMART services including HIV testing, initiation of ART, and management of TB/STI cases.
- Supervise and mentor Health & Wellness Counsellors and Linkage Officers within the mobile and static service points.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and accurate documentation
- Facilitate community-based HIV testing and outreach services in partnership with peer educators and community structures.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement meetings, and data review sessions to enhance service delivery.
- Provide health education on HIV prevention, SRH rights, and healthy lifestyles during individual and group sessions.
- Work with the Strategic Information(SI) team to ensure all program-related data is collected accurately and timeously, and ensure collected data is utilised to inform and redirect program implementation;
- Assist Data team during monitoring and verification visits;
- Attend program meetings and represent IHPS in different platforms as required;
- Participate in any research related activities as per need;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by IHPS senior management
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing (General, Community, Midwifery, and Psychiatry)
- SRH (Sexual Reproductive Health) and NIMART certificate
- Dispensing certificate and license
- Excellent knowledge of HIV, TB, SRH and STI, prevention approaches and NDOH screening guidelines
- A minimum of 3 years of community nursing experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with AGYW/AYP and/or KP will be an advantage
- Report-writing skills
- High-level planning and organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills, including teamwork.
- Ability to work non-traditional flexible hours, which may include weekends from time to time
- Willingness to travel as and when required.
- Have a valid driver’s license
